Tiny House Floor Plan Ideas
One of my hobbies is to make floor plan designs for tiny houses with families in mind. I use Interior Design for iPad. This program was not created with tiny houses in mind; however, I find that it suits my purposes. I do not have building plans that accompany these floor plans. They are ideas for inspiration only. The Split Loft
This 28' tiny house on wheels is designed with a family of 6 in mind. One side of the tiny house features a split loft, with 6' head room both above and below. These can be partitioned off with a curtain or sliding wall. Above the bathroom is an optional 8' loft that can fit 2 more twin sized beds. The eating counter in the kitchen moves and expands to seat 7.
The Murphy Bedroom
A bedroom big enough to fit two bunk beds (or a king sized bed), a Murphy bed with an attached sofa, and an expandable dining table pack functionality into this 32' design. Far from wasted space, the hallway leading to the bedroom provides room for hanging coats and storing shoes and bags. Those who love to entertain will appreciate the spacious living room and functional kitchen. Optional loft above bedroom.
The One Two
This flexible floor plan can be configured with either one bedroom (28') or two bedrooms (32'). It is roomy enough for two L-shaped sofas in the living area, and the breakfast nook can seat either two or four. The first bedroom can fit a large storage closet and a bunk bed, two bunks, or a king sized bed. The optional second bedroom can house a queen sized bed. This unit features a stackable washer and dryer. Optional lofts above the bedrooms are closed in, rather than open, providing a safe, private option for a bedroom.
The Easy Breezy
This is a 28' unit with a loft above the living room. There is also enough room for a staircase leading to the loft. The bedroom on the first floor perfectly fits a twin sized bed or bunk. Alternatively, a portable crib and changing station can make this the perfect, safe, first floor nursery.
The Homeschool House
At 32', this house features one bedroom over another, each with 5.5' head room. The oversized, L-shaped kitchen is topped by a large loft perfect for children playing or doing activities. A full bathroom features a stackable washer and dryer positioned over the trailer tongue, and a large, deep soaking tub.
The Small Family
Two lofts connected by a catwalk nearly double the square footage of this 20' design. Perfect for a couple or a small family, this tiny house fits a sectional sofa, eating bar, and L-shaped kitchen.
The One Way
A small first floor bedroom is perfect for twin bunk beds or a spacious office. Storage stairs next to the French entry doors provIde as place to store shoes and jackets. An eating bar and oversized sofa with a chaise lounge finish off this comfortable space. The bathroom is located in the corner, providing a small but functional space.
