This has been a week of attempting to get into a routine with the baby. I'm trying to teach him the difference between day and night. I know that people always talk about getting babies to sleep THROUGH the night... Well, we're just working on sleeping AT night!
This little contraption is called the Woombie. We refer to it as his straight jacket. Abel loves being swaddled and between the Woombie and a brown noise maker, he will sleep for 2-3 hours without waking. Alex and I are taking turns getting up with him. Thankfully, Alex is a great sleeper. He can sleep through anything. On the other hand, I wake up with just about every noise. Since Alex is still working, it's helpful for him to get a good night's rest. We also moved Abel to his pack and play from the bassinet in our loft. It's a bit annoying to go up and down the ladder, but I can always snooze on the couch. |
Our neighbors... The chickens! Whenever new people come to the tiny house, they see the chicken coop first. Several people have assumed the the coop was our tiny house or another tiny house that someone lived in! It's actually bigger than our house. It's 28'x10' on the bottom and the top is 8x10. We're only 8'x18'
Today brings the first snowfall of the season! This shows the 5" of snow and a comparison shot of the big chicken coop compared to the tiny house. I love the way the yard looks in the snow!
This picture is old, but this week is the first we are experiencing the fruits of our labor. In September, we finally skirted the bottom of the trailer. We used insulation foam, attached a piece of trim to the top, and screwed the trim into the house. Well, Alex did all of that. I just painting it. This week is cold, so we are now enjoying the warm floor. |
Good days look like the picture on the left. Hard days look like the picture on the right! Abel is currently sleeping. But he's about to wake up starving, and I want to avoid a crying baby! Off to walk 4 feet to the kitchen to get him some milk...
